BIO

Geri and the JumpJets

The core of the band is David Deakin, who plays guitar, bass and keyboards.  Drums are courtesy of various session players and vocals handled by Sheena and Liam from Dreamtonics.

David has been in bands since the mid-1970's and songwriting since the early 1980's.   In the last decade, he has focused upon studio work, recording, arranging and producing material  for a number of bands in the USA and UK, most recently producing an anthology of original material from the 1980's NWOBHM band Harrier, for whom he played bass guitar from 1978-1985.

Lesson in Life & Love

The story behind the songs

The inspiration for this album came from a couple of sources.  Firstly, I had become increasingly frustrated about the political pantomime that seems to be the basis for what passes as leadership - both in governments and businesses.  As the track Subterfuge states - "Hiding behaviour we might suspect, from the folks we are supposed to respect. Nothing and no-one is how it seems to be, and we are told what we are supposed to see".         The second inspiration came from reading Derek Siver's excellent book "How to Live" (https://sive.rs/h).  The words from a number of the chapters have been used (with Derek's permission) as source for some of the lyrics on this album.
